My calling is simple: to make work that reflects the beauty, order, and truth of the God who created all things.
Every photograph, painting, and story begins with paying attention—to creation, to people, to places, to light, to craftsmanship, and to the quiet details that are easily overlooked.
I believe beauty is worth noticing because creation itself bears witness to its Creator.

THE WORK
My work is rooted in observation.
Through photography and painting, I seek to preserve moments, places, textures, and stories that might otherwise pass unnoticed. I am drawn to things with character—the worn, the weathered, the enduring, and the beautifully imperfect.
Whether working with a camera or a brush, I want the finished work to feel honest, timeless, and worthy of being lived with.

The gallery is where the work is collected.
The grounds are where the stories are lived.
And WALT is the maker behind both.
THE FOUNDATION
My life and my work belong to Yahweh.
Scripture is not simply something I believe; it is the foundation by which I seek to live.
I want my work, my words, my decisions, and my relationships to be shaped by His Word and ordered toward His glory.
I do not create to build a name for myself.
I create as an act of stewardship—with what I have been given, in the time I have been given, for the One who gave it.
“Whether then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

THE STORY
My path has included hardship, loss, and seasons that stripped life down to what is true.
It has also included two emergency open-heart surgeries that could have ended my life.
Through every valley, Yahweh preserved me.
Those experiences changed the way I see.
I have learned to pay closer attention. To be grateful for ordinary things. To recognize that another morning, another place, another conversation, another cup of coffee, or another opportunity to create is not something to take for granted.
What I make now is, in part, a response to that mercy.
THE PURPOSE
What you find at GALLERY & GROUNDS is not intended to be a monument to personal achievement.
It is a collection of things worth noticing.
A photograph may preserve a place.
A painting may preserve a feeling.
A story may preserve a lesson.
But ultimately, I want the work to point beyond itself—to creation, to truth, to beauty, to gratitude, and to the One who holds all things together.
Coffee may fuel the hours.
The work may occupy the hands.
But the purpose is greater than either.
To create faithfully.
To notice gratefully.
To live deliberately.
To give Yahweh the glory.
